According to Malaysian newspaper, Malaysia will soon see a number of military and defence upgrades especially along the Sabah border. At a press conference held on June 3, Malaysian minister of Defence Hishammuddin Hussein announced that he and officers from the Malaysian Ministry of Defence had detailed the ministry’s direction for the next five years and said it would include items detailed in the 11th Malaysia Plan in regard to the nation’s safety.

Russia says that Russia’s foreign partners, including China and India, have expressed interest in purchasing new military equipment presented at the May 9 Victory Day parade in Moscow. The Russian Defense Ministry unveiled its new T-14 Armata main battle tank at the Victory Day military parade held in Moscow on May 9 in celebration of WWII victory over Nazi Germany.

A new air defense regiment consisting of S-400 Triumph systems has been inducted into the Russian armed forces based in Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky region, the Russian Ministry of Defense announced on June 3rd, 2015. "Over 200 pieces of armament and military equipment as well as repair parts, 40-metre towers for targeting locators and divisional reconnaissance means have been delivered," said the Russian Defense Ministry press service.

The U.S. Army has awarded a contract to Oshkosh Defense to reset 360 additional Oshkosh-produced Mine Resistant Ambush Protected (MRAP) All-Terrain Vehicles (M-ATVs). As the original equipment manufacturer (OEM), Oshkosh is best suited to standardize the M-ATV fleet configuration to achieve mission readiness. The M-ATV Reset program will allow the U.S. Army to extend the life of its vehicles and upgrade them with the latest protective technologies.

BAE Systems Land and Armaments and General Dynamics Land Systems Inc. were awarded a $28,868,741 (€26 million) contract to develop design concepts for the Future Fighting Vehicle. The Future Fighting Vehicle is the next follow-up IFV development program after the cancellation of the Ground Combat Vehicle (GCV) program. The Ground Combat Vehicle (GCV) was the U.S. Army's replacement program for armored fighting vehicles in Heavy and Stryker brigade combat teams.

India army successfully test-fired its home-made Pinaka-II rocket from a military base near Pokhran in the western state of Rajasthan late Saturday, sources said on Sunday, May 31, 2015. Pinaka-II is the advanced version of Pinaka-I that is already introduced to the Indian Army and tested during the 1998 Kargil War, one of three major wars fought between India and Pakistan in the past 60 years.
