Poland launches tender to replace its ageing fleet of Honker 4x4 tactical vehicles
The Polish Armament Inspectorate has launches on July 23rd a tender for 882 new light multipurpose 4x4 vehicles to replace its ageing fleet of Honker tactical vehicles. The future "Mustang" will be purchased in two variants: 841 non-armoured and 41 armoured vehicles. The new vehicles are to be delivered for 2022.

The Polish Armament Inspectorate already started technological dialogue with 17 potential contractors.

The two variants of the Mustang will be powered by a diesel engine with 0.35 kW/kg power-to-mass ratio, equipped with run flat wheels. The new vehicles should also feature a hoist with a pulling strength of at least 100% of TTPM, with at least 25m long cable.

Request also includes that the contractor is going to provide maintenance, repairs and service throughout the guarantee period at the authorized workshops of the contractor, located within the territory of Poland.

The non-armoured variant will be delivered in two versions, soft top and hard top. It has to be capable of transporting up to nine persons and to have a load capacity of 1,000 kilograms.

The armoured version should have a load capacitiy of at least 600 kilograms and would be capable of carrying five soldiers.

Final request placing deadline, related to the requests for being included in the proceedings, expires on 8th September 2015.
