Germany’s Rheinmetall MAN Military Vehicles (RMMV) and Achleitner of Austria announce the strategic cooperation between their two organisations, combining the flexibility and innovative strength of a mid-size vehicle manufacturer – Achleitner – with the global reputation, market presence and corporate resources of a leading European defence multinational, RMMV.

The Survivor 4 multirole protected vehicle was unveiled for the first time to the public during the International Defence and Security Exhibition Eurosatory 2014 in Paris, France.
     

RMMV considers close cooperation with Achleitner of Austria to be a crucial step forward in effectively dealing with the continuing challenges of shrinking defence budgets, rapidly shifting markets and evolving customer demands.

RMMV was created in 2010 as a joint venture between Rheinmetall AG and MAN Nutzfahrzeuge AG (the latter renamed MAN Truck & Bus AG in 2010), resulting in a new single-source supplier of a complete range of military logistic, tactical and protected wheeled vehicles.

Based on comprehensively militarized MAN TGM truck chassis and automotives, the Survivor R uses only series-produced components, making it one of the most cost-effective solutions available today.
     
The Survivor R was unveiled for the first time to the public during the International Defence and Security Exhibition Eurosatory which was held in Paris (France from the 16 to 20 June 2014.

As RMMV Chairman Pietro Borgo notes, “The strategic cooperation between RMMV and Achleitner has allowed the Survivor R to be developed utilising the core competences of these complimentary companies, combining the best of each to deliver global customers a class-leading product at a competitive price.”
