Israel's military will deploy a new regional unit along the Syrian border to protect the country from a possible spillover from the ongoing fighting in neighboring Syria, an army source said Wednesday, July 11, 2013. This will be the Israeli Defense Forces' (IDF) fifth regional division to be deployed in the Golan Heights, the same source told Chinese Press Agency Xinhua anonymously.

During the rehearsal of military parade for the Bastille Day 2013, French Army has unveiled a new military fuel tanker truck, the CaRaPACE (Camion Ravitailleur Pétrolier de l’Avant à Capacité étendue). To reduce the vulnerability of its vehicles in overseas operations, the SEA (Fuel Services of French Army) has launched the acquisition of a deployable trucks equipped with armoured cabin and a self-protection weapon.

French army takes delivery of the 500th VBCI 8x8 armoured infantry fighting vehicle
 

The consortium formed by Nexter Systems and Renault Trucks Defense has delivered the 500th armored infantry combat vehicle VBCI to the French army. The VBCI is the latest generation of armoured infantry fighting vehicle, the successor of the tracked armoured infantry fighting vehicle AMX 10P which is in service with the French Army since 1973.

South African National Defence Force approves production contract for Badger 8x8 armoured
 

A production contract for the Badger infantry fighting vehicle for the South African National Defence Force has been approved and is currently with Armscor, which will send it out to industry. According to Dr Sam Gulube, Secretary for Defence, the Badger production contract under Project Hoefyster was approved in February this year. He said he hoped to see the first production Badger vehicle roll off the assembly line by the end of 2013 and the last in 2023.
