First prototype of the new Russian wheeled armoured vehicle Boomerang will be ready for 2013.
The first prototypes of the new Russian-made wheeled armoured vehicle Boomerang could be available for 2013, -said Director General of "Military-Industrial Company", Dmitry Galkin. According to Mister Galkin, the "Boomerang" will be marketed in several variants as light tank, infantry fighting vehicle and personnel carrier.

The vehicles based on the Boomerang will be equipped with remote weapon systems, ceramic armour and latest technologies of protection against shell splinters. The vehicle will also have amphibious capabilities but only for a light and medium variants.

Dmitry Galkin, general director of the Voyenno-Promyshlennaya Kompaniya [Military-Industrial Company], said about this new vehicle “it will be unlike any existing modern APCs. (Armoured Personnel Carrier)”
