Arrow 3 anti-ballistic missile full-scale model at Paris Air Show 2011

Held in an undisclosed location in Israel, an Arrow 3 interceptor missile was launched against an incoming projectile, successfully destroying it after a few hundred meters flight, according to the Mako/Channel Two television news site.

The innovative ARROW 3 interceptor is designed to intercept and destroy the newest, longer-range threats, especially those carrying weapons of mass destruction.

ARROW 3 integrates seamlessly into the ARROW WEAPON SYSTEM (AWS) complementing the current and future blocks of the ARROW 2 - thus enabling upper-tier multiple engagement opportunities.

A full-scale model was put on display during the Paris Air Show, in June 2011.
