The Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) awarded Lockheed Martin a $31.9 million contract for the Operational Fires (OpFires) Phase 3 Weapon System Integration program. OpFires seeks to develop and demonstrate an innovative ground-launched system to enable a hypersonic boost glide missile system to penetrate modern enemy air defenses and rapidly engage time-sensitive targets.

A batch of 30 upgraded T-72B3 tanks will be delivered to the Central Military District’s armored division based in the Chelyabinsk Region in the Urals in 2020, the Defense Ministry’s press office said: "Tank crews will learn to operate the advanced military hardware during driving lessons and live-firing drills due to take place after its delivery to the units".

Pierce Aerospace, a Remote ID UAS Service Supplier (RID-USS), participated in the first C-UAS engagement that confirmed the positive ID of UAS with a Remote ID system. Pierce’s Flight Portal ID (FPID), compliant with the ASTM F38 Workgroup “UAS Remote ID and Tracking” standard, delivered Identification Friend or Foe (IFF) information to Counter-UAS (C-UAS) operators, which resulted in the successful execution of an engagement against “hostile” UAS at the US Army Futures Command Maneuver and Fires Integration Experiment (MFIX).

Composed of medical personnel, the Vietnamese contingent participated in United Nations Mission in the Sudan (UNMIS). Expecting hostility, VPA converted a BTR-152 into a medevac. On October 28, 2019 at the U.S. Army Base in Grafenwoehr, Germany, the 1st Battalion, 6th Field Artillery, 41st Field Artillery Brigade began New Equipment Training and new software fielding of the Multiple Launch Rocket System Field Artillery Launcher. As the only U.S. rocket artillery brigade in the European theater, the unit prepares to deliver long-range precision fires to defend NATO allies and deter aggression from near-peer adversaries using M270A1 MLRS Multiple Launch Rocket System. 

General Dynamics Land Systems-Canada, a subsidiary of General Dynamics, has released the first photo of the newest medium-weight, large-caliber Mobile Protected Firepower (MPF) combat vehicle. The MPF program is designed to provide a mobile, protected, direct, offensive fire capability across the spectrum of terrains and operations for the army’s Infantry Brigade Combat Team (IBCT).
