Georgian Defense Company Delta will deliver Didgori 1 4x4 ambulance armored to Saudi Arabia
The Georgian Defense Company Delta will provide for the first time armoured vehicles for a foreign customer. The national Georgian TV has announced, Monday January 26, 2016, the delivery of Didgori 1 armoured vehicle in ambulance configuration to Saudi Arabia following an international tender.

As an agreement signed between Georgia and Saudi Arabia parties in December stated ‘Delta’ will provide Saudi Arabia with more than one hundred Didgori 1 medical armored vehicles at the cost of over 100 million lari (38 million €).

According to our information, Delta participated in a tender announced by Saudi Arabia in order to design armored vehicles, where the Georgian state center competed against famous armored vehicle manufacturers such as Oshkosh, Streit group, AIG, Steyr and Lenco bearcat.

The Didgori 1 armored medical evacuation vehicle is primary design to insure transportation of wounded soldiers from the front line of military operations and providing first medical aid during transportation. This medical evacuation vehicle on universal Ford F550 4×4 chassis and fully designed, assembled and tested by State Military Scientific-Technical Center “Delta” in Georgia.

The Didgori 1 armour provides protection against firing of small arms 7,62 caliber armor-piercing bullets shoot and artillery shell fragments. The body structure is designed specifically to have optimal angles of placing of armored plates to ensure maximum effectiveness against kinetic and mine blast threads.

There are four stretchers and special medical equipment in the rear part of the vehicle.

State Military Scientific-Technical Center Delta is engaged in Defense Industry and provides technical support for Georgian Armed Forces concerning ammunition, military vehicles, specialized buildings and fortifications, implementation/application of new weapon systems and their subsequent support, humanitarian demining and demilitarization works.
