At IDEX 2019, the International Defense Exhibition in Abu Dhabi, Inkas Vehicles LLC, an international armored and security vehicles manufacturer based in United Arab Emirates presents latest generation of APC (Armored Personnel Carrier) in the Titan family including the Titan-DS SWAT and the Titan-DS 4x4 APC, booth vehicles was also demonstrated in live demonstration during IDEX 2019.

The Titan is a family of 4x4 APC (Armored Personnel Carrier) vehicles fully designed and manufactured by the Company INKAS Vehicles LLC. At IDEX 2019, the Company has presented the latest generation of APC in the Titan family, the Titan-DS. The new vehicle is an advanced version of the Titan-D, with a shorter chassis and lighter weight.

 The Titan-DS is based on a Dodge Ram F5500 Tradesman® Chassis Cab powered by a 6.7L Cummins® I-6 Turbo Diesel engine coupled to a 6-Speed AISIN® Automatic transmissions. The vehicle can run at a maximum speed of 110 km/h with a maximum cruising range of 1,000 km.

The Titan-DS can accommodate 12 military personnel including driver and commander. The design of the vehicle consists of three main parts, with the engine at the front, the crew compartment in the middle and the troops area at the rear. The front of the crew compartment is fitted with two large bullet proof windows with metal mesh guards providing additional protection to ballistic glass surfaces. The Titan-DS offers ballistic and mine protection STANG 4569 Level 2, against firing of small arms 7.62 AI and mine blast of 6 kg explosion of TNT under the wheels and the floor of the hull.

There is two doors at the front of the hull, used by the driver and commander, and one more additional door on each side used by the troops. There is two more additional doors in the rear of the hull, each of which has a small bulletproof window and firing port.

The Titan-DS APC can be fitted with a single-man open top turret mounted at the front part of the roof which can be armed with a machine gun up to 12.7mm caliber. The gunner position is protected on 360° with armored plates including small bullet proof windows allow 360 ° observation under shielding.

At IDEX 2019, INKAS Vehicles LLC also showed a SWAT version of its Titan-DS especially designed to be used to transport tactical (SWAT/Special Reaction Teams) officers to and from hostile situations and to assist with the recovery and protection of civilians in harm's way during terrorist threats, hostage incidents, or encounters with large gatherings of aggressors.

With the new threats and after the recent terrorist attacks all over the world, Police units needs new vehicles offering more protection against assault rifles and explosive devices. The Titan-DS SWAT is designed to provide protection from a variety of small arms, explosives and IED (Improvised Explosive Device) threats. The vehicle can be also used by Security or Police Team with an eye towards possible hostage situations, or active shooter scenarios when law enforcement would be looking to extract wounded individuals.
