With its new Guardian MAX, IAG (International Armored Group) launches a new concept of light armoured vehicle offering high mobility and high level protection. The design of the vehicle features a cargo area located at the rear of the chassis that is separated from the crew compartment.

The Guardian MAX is based on a commercial vehicle Ford F550 HD truck chassis certified to STANAG 4569 Level 1, offering a ballistic protection against firing of small arms 7.62×51mm NATO at 30 meters and blast protection against hand grenades, unexploded artillery fragmenting submunitions, and other small anti personnel explosive devices detonated under the vehicle.

In option the Guardian MAX can be fitted with add-on armour to increase the protection up to STANAG 4569 Level 3, to provide ballistic protection against 7.62×51mm AP bullets and mine protection of 8 kg TNT explosion under any wheel.

The Guardian crew compartment is designed to carried 5 military personnel and their individual gear, the rear of the vehicle has a large cargo area.

The standard configuration includes certified blast mitigation seats equipped with five point harnesses mounted directly on the vehicle structural walls to minimize transmission of shock waves. The mechanical components such as the suspension and braking systems have been designed for superior drivability, off-road capability and to sustain the entire armoring weight plus crew and cargo.
