The LAFETA II was presented for the first time to the public at IDET 2017, the International Defence and Security Technologies Fair in Czech Republic. The system was jointly developed by the Czech Company VOP and the Czech University of Defence.

The LAFETA II enables transferring the fire control process to a robotized system connected to a computer using a specific program that provides the capability to remotely aim and fire virtually with all types of assault rifle.

The autonomous weapon station LAFETA II has a maximum weight of 13 kg and can be easily installed in a few minutes by only one soldier. It enables rapid mission configuration and can be installed to run from batteries or a variety of electric external sources.

Engagement of that type of system improves the accuracy and efficiency of delivered fire under a wide scale of difficult conditions but primary it represent a significant factor in minimizing the risk of exposing the soldier to dangerous situations and actions in asymmetric operation theatre.
