The CZ P-09 is a service pistol with a polymer frame and barrel locked by shortened (linkless) Browning mechanism with tilting barrel and sizeable ejection port. The slide is made of steel, with slightly oblong upper surface whose front part is slant cut ahead. On both front and rear sides of the slide are rectangular grasping grooves. The surface is protected by the coating of Tenifer ferritic nitrocarburizing salt bath. The result is an extremely durable matte black surface, with minimum porosity, rust resistant even when directly exposed to salt water.

The synthetic polymer frame of the CZ P-09 has MilStd 1913 rails on the dust cover, enabling fast and easy installation of a flash light or laser pointer. The front strap of the grip is horizontally ribbed, the grip side panels have with a coarse sand texture. Similar texture can be found also on small strips on both sides of the frame above the trigger. These panels help to index the finger of strong hand when carrying the weapon ready.

The low-profile open sights are not prone to snag in the holster or clothing when the gun is drawn. The rear sight is horizontally adjustable, the elevation adjustment is possible by changing the front sight.

Double column single feed magazine has capacity of 19 rounds. The magazine catch is located at the lower rear section of the trigger guard. As a standard the catch is mounted on the left side of the weapon, but it can easily be reversed by the user, should it be his preference. The mouth of the magazine well is funneled to facilitate and to speed up reloading.

The CZ 75 P-07 Duty pistol has been the most successful polymer pistol from Ceska zbrojovka a.s. (CZ) to date. Launched in 2009, this service and defence compact has become one of the highest demanded small arms made in Uhersky Brod and has scored seriously high points in the service sector. New for 2014 is the simply--named P-07, expanding the excellent concept of the initial Duty with a range of improvements, some minor - some substantial.

The CZ P-07 is the updated version of the CZ 75 P-07 Duty. The debut of the full-size P-09 last year brought refined lines and interchangeable backstraps to our polymer Omega line. This year the compact-sized P-07 follows suit, with new features and a nitrated slide finish that wears longer and has increased corrosion resistance. The pistol as a whole has been dehorned, removing any sharp edges to make it more comfortable for all-day carry.

Like the P-09, the P-07’s safety and decocker are interchangeable with a few minutes and minimal tools. Add to that small, medium and large backstraps and an integrated 1913 Picatinny rail on the dust cover and the P-07 is adaptable to the shooter and their needs, from service pistol to bedside protector to the envy of the shooting range.

The P-07 shares the P-09’s updated trigger shape which is more comfortable for long days at the range, as well as its snag-free hammer and forward cocking serrations. Metal 3-dot sights and a beefed up magazine spring round out the bevy of updates, resulting in the best P-07 we’ve had to date.
