Dear Gunman,
That photo shows the solution to the problem that the French had in fitting a high velocity smooth bore cannon that could fire a APDS-FS round: ie the muzzle brake interfered with the falling away of the sabots that surrounded the dart. The original one had a square sort of muzzle brake (photo of Sagaie being tested shows original muzzle brake) and then they came up with that rounded model that solves the problem.
The Sagaie and Lynx major weakiness is like the British Scorpion series which is its engine: under powered and gasoline. But as the French point out in a light armored vehicle if you get hit by anything that will penetrate the armor it does not matter if it is gasoline or diesel. The crew is most likely dead anyway.
The US Army's 101st Airmobile (helicopters) and the 82nd Airborne (parachute) was very interested in the Sagaie when it was introduced. But they were told to forget it -- if it was not designed and made in the US it was "No Go!"
Finally, the Mexican Army bought a version called the Lynx. Instead of a high velocity cannon it mounted a shorter barrel medium velocity cannon. Never could figure out why the Mexican Army chose the Lynx over the Sagaie. Then I saw US vehicles driving those river beds and roads in Afghanistan. The Sagaie for all its advantages is limited in its ability to elevate it cannon while the Lynx has a good super elevation specification almost like a high angle howitzer.

PS> I apologize for the quality of the Jpegs. They are from official brochures and have been in storage for a long -- LONG -- while.

Toutes mes excuses !
Je vais éditer le titre ...
Voici un AMX 10 VOA :
