Russian Strategic Missile Troops receive modern CBRN equipment
The Russian Strategic Missile Troops (RVSN) continue to be rearmed with the newest radiological, chemical and biological defense equipment. The modern vehicles make it possible to fulfill the whole range of tasks from reconnaissance operations to special treatment of weapons, military and specialized hardware, including autonomous launchers, the Russian Defense Ministry said.

"It takes less time for the CBRN units, which have received prospective weapons, to carry out operations while the broad capabilities of modern vehicles make it possible to improve the quality of fulfilling radiological, chemical and biological defense tasks. The novelties will increase the survivability of the Yars missile system," the ministry said.
Prospective RKHM-6 vehicles are designed to conduct radiological, chemical and biological reconnaissance and transmit the reconnaissance data to an automatic troops control system. The RKHM-6 makes it possible to obtain reconnaissance and meteorological data in real-time and display it on an interactive map in the reconnaissance vehicle. The data can be clarified dependent on the situation. The RKHM-6 controls the radiological, chemical and biological situation in the area of deployment and notifies the troops promptly of the weapons of mass destruction (WMD) threat.
RVSN are receiving ARS-14KM for special treatment of weapons, military and specialized hardware, including launchers. ARS-14KMs degasify, deactivate and disinfect weapons and military and specialized hardware; separate sections of the terrain and roads. They can also be used for temporary storage and transportation of water and for degasifying solutions as well as for the creation of aerosol screens.

Units of the Russian Strategic Missile Troops (RVSN) that are being rearmed are receiving universal thermal vehicles UTM-80M. A special solution designed for the vehicles makes it possible to treat oversized military hardware, including autonomous launchers. The operator moves along a weapon or a vehicle, which is subject to treatment, at a height of up to 20 meters.
The Tagil Missile Formation was the first to receive a full line of modern hardware. About 20 units of military and specialized hardware will come into service with the radiological, chemical and biological defense units of the Russian Strategic Missile Troops (RVSN) before the end of 2019.
