The Terrex 2 is a new generation of 8x8 armoured vehicle developed by Singapore ST Kinetics and based on the Terrex 1 which is currently in service with armed forces of Singapore. The vehicle was unveiled for the first time during the Defense Exhibition DSEI 2015 in London, United Kingdom.

The Terrex 2 is a cutting-edge 8x8 wheeled armoured vehicle with superior mobility, protection and network centricity that enhances the capabilities of global armed forces to fight as a mobile, networked force.

Frontal arc offers protection against firing of small-arms 12.7-mm armor-piercing rounds. The Terrex 2 has a V-shaped hull, which provides improved protection against landmines. It weighs an estimated 25 to 30 tonnes on an 8x8 wheeled chassis with modern armour.

The MT30 is an updated version of the Elbit UT30 unmanned weapon station, with sights and sensors relocated internally. Main armament of the new UT30 consists of one Orbital ATK Mk44 Bushmaster II 30mm automatic dual-feed cannon and one 7.62mm coaxial machine gun. The MT30 is also fitted with Rafael Spike-LR anti-tank guided weapon.

A request for information (RfI) for 450 tracked infantry fighting vehicles (IFVs) to meet the mounted close combat requirements of the Australian Army was released by the Department of Defence (DoD) on 13 November.

The RfI, closing on 22 February 2016, encompasses Phase 3 of what will be the ADF's largest ever land systems acquisition program.

Project Land 400 will provide replacements under Phase 2 for the army's ageing ASLAV light armoured vehicles and under Phase 3 for its upgraded M113AS4 armoured personnel carriers (APCs). The Phase 3 RFI specifies 312 turreted direct-fire high-survivability IFVs (IFV-DFHSL), 26 command-and-control vehicles, 14 ambulances, 18 repair vehicles, 16 Joint Fires vehicles, 11 engineer reconnaissance vehicles, 14 recovery vehicles as well as 39 combat engineer variants.

LAND 400 Phase 3 is expected to deliver an initial operating capability in 2025 when the M113AS4 Armoured Personnel Carrier (APC) is retired from service.
