Ukraine to supply a total of 50 T-64BV1 main battle tanks to Democratic Republic of Congo
 

The Subsidiary of the State Company “Ukrspecexport” the State Company “Ukroboronservice” concluded the foreign economic contract for major overhaul and supply of 50 main battle tanks T64BV-1. According to Russian internet sources and the Lenta newspaper website, the country buyer could be the Democratic Republic of Congo that have signed a contract late 2013 for a total amount of $200,000.

African countries would like to set up an African police body under the name of Afripol
 

African police chiefs agreed Tuesday, February 11, 2014, at a conference held in Algiers to set up an African police body, or Afripol, the Algerian police chief announced. Speaking to reporters, Major-General Abdelghani Hamel said the African Police Chiefs Conference proposed to establish the mechanism for coordination and cooperation between African police institutions in Algeria.

On 24th January 2014, the Division of General Armaments (DGA) of the French Ministry of Defence placed an order for 250 logistic military trucks with the Iveco (CNH industrial Group) and Soframe (Lohr group) consortium. This batch forms part of the « Porteurs Polyvalents Terrestres » (PPT) programme, launched in 2010 to provide the French land forces with a fleet of modern logistic vehicles.

On February 4, 2014 the first batch of five T-84 Oplot main battle tanks arrived to the Kingdom of Thailand. Ukrainian tanks produced by the State Enterprise “Malyshevplant” arrived to the Port of Sattahip (Thailand) where they were discharged and directed to the place of acceptance testing. After the final testing by the Thailand side, the tanks will be finally accepted under the terms of the contract.
