Lorta Plant of Ukraine will produce ZTM-1 automatic gun for BTR-4 and BTR-3E 8x8 armoured.
Lviv State Plant ‘Lorta’ being incorporated with Ukroboronprom State Concern has mastered the manufacture of 30 mm caliber ZTM-1 Automatic Gun for BTR-4. It was informed by Vadym Fedosov, Director of the Division on Armored Vehicles, Artillery Armament, Automotive Vehicles, Engineering and Special Equipment of Ukroboronprom.
     
     

“The decision on transferring of technical documentation concerning the production of ZTM-1 Automatic Gun was made by the Minister of Defense of Ukraine together with Ukroboronprom General Director. It was caused by the increase of a number of foreign orders for BTR-4 and BTR-3E supplies, and as a result the increase of loading of a main manufacturer of the gun – Kamianec-Podolsk Presicion Mechanics Plant ”, Mr.; Fedosov reported.

The executive admitted that last year Lorta Plant produced a trial model of ZTM-1. According to him, the manufacturing process of the first batch of device is being carried out, the end of which is planned for the nearest future. After that the 1st batch will be sent for state test running.

ZTM-1 Automatic Gun is intended to deal with lightly armored armored vehicles, destruction of manpower and low-flying air targets. It can be installed on various types of light armored vehicles, particularly on fighting vehicles BMP-2, BMD-2, BMD-3, BTR-80, BTR-90 and BTR-4.

Shooting a gun ZTM-1 can be carried out single and automatic fire with electric trigger. The fire control system can be mechanical and distance one – carried out from electric trigger. The gun has a selective tape supply depot of the two ammunition boxes, fit with armor-piercing and high-explosive shells.
