British Army could be interested to purchase Nexter VBCI 8x8 armoured infantry fighting vehicle.
According to the French newspaper website "L'Opinion", France will lend a few of VBCI 8x8 armoured infantry fighting vehicles to British army to be tested and maybe to be purchased. According to a French military source, the British Army could be interested to purchase the VBCI.

The Nexter VBCI 8x8 armoured infantry fighting vehicle is currently deployed by the French Army in Mali.
     

A VBCI from the 1st Infantry Regiment was send Friday January 31, 2014, to Brize Norton for the Franco-British summit.

Today, France has not yet export VBCI, but the vehicle has already been tested in many countries. The VBCI is combat proven and demonstrated its operational capacity in Afghanistan and Lebanon. The VBCI is also deployed for the French military operations in Mali.

In January 31, 2014, British and French governments signed agreements to cooperate on building drones, anti-ship missiles and mine detectors as they sought to kick-start cooperation between Europe’s leading military powers.

During a conference, The French President Francois Hollande said his government is considering buying Watchkeeper surveillance drones, which are built by Thales of France and used by the U.K. military, while Britain may buy VBCI 8x8 armoured infantry fighting vehicle manufactured by France’s Nexter Systems SA.

The VBCI (French denomination of "Véhicule Blindé de Combat d'Infanterie)") is a French wheeled armoured infantry fighting vehicle designed and manufactured by the French Companies Nexter Systems and Renault Trucks Defense.

The VBCI in armoured infantry combat vehicle variant is equipped with with a one-man Nexter Dragar turret armed with a dual feed 25mm Nato cannon type 25 M811 with 150 rounds in the turret and a coaxial 7.62mm machine gun.
