The new platforms will replace the older series of vehicles such as the VAB, VAB HOT, ERC Sagaie and AMX-10RC. The Griffon vehicles will feature a remote-controlled weapon turret for light or heavy machine guns, or a 40mm AGL.

The Jaguar vehicle, also called EBRC (Engin Blindé de Reconnaissance et de Combat), is also a 6x6 platform. It will have integrated a two-man turret with a 40mm gun, a remote overhead weapon station with a 7.62mm machine gun and two MMP anti-tank missiles, which will replace the Milan.

The overall programme is planned to be concluded in 2033 and will be implemented in two stages. Phase 1 is currently under development. Phase 2 will include many emerging technologies, in addition to the improved version of FELIN.

The Scorpion programme will also cover the upgrade of 200 Leclerc MBT. The first are planned for delivery in 2025 and will have an improved man-machine interface and computing system.

A fourth vehicle, the 10-12 tons VBMR Light light armored vehicle is to join the program by 2021.
