"Our regular servicing work on airport firefighting trucks in different regions of the world and feedback from our customers has demonstrated the importance of easy access to service operation," says Sides.

The Sentinel firefighting vehicle is based on the Titan T36-650 6x6 chassis. It is powered by a 650hp Mercedes engine and can reach a maximum speed of 115 km/h.

The SM 60 roof monitor has a flow rate of 6 000 l/min and a maximum range of 100 m.

In the interests of crew access and fast response, Sides has designed the cab with no centre column and a wide access areas. All the firefighting system is controlled by Sides' S-Control management system. S- Control is the firefighting system control and management system for Sides airport vehicles. Its single touch screen provides access to all commands and controls for the hydraulic system (the entire process can be deployed via a single control), response equipment and special lighting. There is also a dedicated screen that displays details of maintenance operations and faults.

The system is designed to withstand intensive use in even the most challenging environments.

Each element – chassis, cab and firefighting system – has been carefully designed to be as easy to use as possible. This means that firefighters can use the truck intuitively, avoid operator errors, and attack the fire precisely even in severe emergencies. Safety features include low dashboard for improved visibility, low centre of gravity for better stability and a cab with the best safety standards.
