It mounts main and secondary armaments, of Eastern and Western origins, including a 30/40 mm Automatic Cannon, 40 mm AGL (optional), and 7.62 mm Coaxial Machine Gun (MG). Additional mountable force multipliers include ATGM Launchers, ASM, and SGL obscurants. Equipped with a dual-axis, gyro-stabilized, retractable, dual-sight, weapon mounting system, and the system's configuration provides the Commander with full "hunt-kill" capabilities without interfering with the Gunner's current missions.

Crew and weapon station survivability and manoeuvrability are underscored in the new SAMSON 30mm. Like its Dual counterpart, the new SAMSON 30mm boosts crew survivability by means of its dedicated under armor reloading system. Furthermore, the robust design of this RWS enable it to withstand the most extreme PSD, vibration and shock profiles for a highly lethal operational response for the manoeuvring forces.

The system provides enhanced observation during day and night missions and high-precision firing capabilities, supported by a sophisticated two Degrees Of Freedom (DOF) Line-Of-Sight (LOS) stabilization system, and 3rd Generation FCS for effective shooting-on-the-move.

The new SAMSON 30mm features a very low silhouette, offering the RWS enhanced survivability without compromising performance and the capability of loading under armor. The system is loaded from under the deck by a specially patented arrangement.
