Video report: Lockheed Martin latest technologies at DSEI 2013.

At DSEI 2013, Chris Mitchell, Head of Business Development at Lockheed Martin UK briefs us on three major programs: The modernisation of the turret of Scout SV for Britain, the largest UGV (Unmanned Ground Vehicle) ever deployed by the US Army and the JLTV vehicle which just reached the final stage in the US Army bid to replace the Humvee.

Our interview with Chris Mitchell, Head of Business Development at Lockheed Martin UK

First topic: Warrior's Turret

Lockheed Martin is providing 3 new upgrades for the Warrior's turret: An improved 40mm canon, new armor and upgraded systems.

Second topic: SMSS

The SMSS UGV: The largest unmanned vehicle ever deployed with U.S. ground forces, the Lockheed Martin Squad Mission Support System leverages robotic technologies for unmanned transport and logistical support for light, early entry and special operations forces. It solves capability gaps by lightening the Soldier’s load and serving as a power management resource.

Third topic: JLTV

The Joint Light Tactical Vehicle (JLTV), is a bid launched by the US Army, the US Marine Corps and USSOCOM to replace the Humvee. At least 55,000 vehicles will be produced (with a possibility as hight as 66,000 vehicles) with a production planned to start in 2015. Lockheed Martin is in the final stage of the bid with only two rivals remaining. Lockheed Martin show us their solution and why they think they will win the bid.
