Rheinmetall Italia and MBDA signs MoU to cooperate in air defence


According to a PR published by Rheinmetall on March 8, 2022, MBDA Italia and Rheinmetall Italia have signed a memorandum of understanding to explore possibilities for collaborating in the area of air defense including disruptive technologies and in the national and European defence funds domain.

During a two-year timeframe, the two companies will study ways of working together with the ultimate aim of developing joint business opportunities in Italy and the international marketplace. MBDA Italia and Rheinmetall Italia will create joint working groups tasked with identifying possibilities for joint technological development and business opportunities.

Around the globe, the armed forces of more than 40 nations have come to rely on the multifaceted, automated, and highly effective air defense solutions produced by Rheinmetall.

Among the company's best-known products are its widely introduced Skyguard twin-gun fire units, the Skyshield generation with its pioneering revolver guns, and the highly mobile Skyranger family, as well as the new, integrated air defense system Skynex.

For Navy’s around the globe, self-protection systems such as the Millennium Gun and the Searanger remote-controlled weapon station are available. Radars and electro-optical sensors complement the naval product portfolio.
