Thales has presented to the Armed Forces of Spain, the DGAM (Procurement Agency) and the Ministry of Defense, the performance of its software-defined radios SYNAPS, to provide state-of-the-art radio communications to the new 8x8 “Dragón” vehicle for the Spanish Armed Forces, as well as for the Joint Tactical Radio System (SCRT) program.

Russia is strengthening its ground forces in the Arctic. All Arctic units will be armed by the end of 2020 with T-80BVM tanks fit for operations in the Extreme North. The Izvestia daily writes about the modern Russian ground forces in the Arctic, their composition and the missions of motorized rifles and marines.

Lockheed Martin was awarded a $702,881,910 modification to contract W31P4Q-18-C-0130 for the procurement of Hellfire missiles. Work locations and funding will be determined with each order, with an estimated completion date of Sept. 30, 2023. From 25 May to 8 June 2020, Nexter Munitions carried out two major test campaigns of the Katana ammunition in the S3MA wind tunnel at ONERA's Modane site. The 155mm Katana technical team successfully tested the guidance function and ballistic behavior of the ammunition in this wind tunnel capable of covering speeds ranging from Mach 0.1 to 6.05.

According to a contract released by the U.S. DoD (Department of Defense) on July 17, 2020, General Dynamic Land Systems Inc., Sterling Heights, Michigan, was awarded a $44,415,556 modification (PZ0003) to contract W56HZV-20-F-0060 to procure improved fire control electronics units in support of the M1A2 Abrams main battle tank expedited active protection system-trophy.

On July 13, Serbian Minister of Defence Aleksandar Vulin visited the plants of the factory “Complex Combat Systems” in Velika Plana, and the occasion for the visit was recently signed a framework agreement for equipping of the Serbian Armed Forces with the 8x8 armored fighting vehicles Lazar-3 and self-propelled howitzers 155mm Nora B-52 M15.
