Meteksan Defence started to develop its GNSS receiver and antenna product family in 2019 with its own resources. The company's strong RF design history, infrastructure for antenna design, and the ability to design low-budget and high-performance systems in terms of volume, weight, and power consumption (SWAP) enabled a wide range of product family to emerge in a short time.

In this context, Meteksan Defence has developed active GNSS Antennas that are designed to support all satellite systems and can operate at L1, L1 & L2 frequencies and GNSS Receivers that are designed to support GPS L1 & L2 and Glonass L1 frequencies and that provide precise position solution even under high speed and acceleration conditions.

On the other The Anti-Jamming GNSS called Agnosis, developed by Meteksan Defence, provides high performance against intense jamming with the spatial filtering method. Instead of including receivers as chips in the hardware design, which is a commonly used method, Agnosis has smart antenna algorithms that will enable the tracking of satellites using its own unique receiver. This method contributes to the performance of the unit against jamming.

Meteksan Defence Communication Systems Vice President Dr. Erdal Torun emphasizes the difference of solutions of Meteksan Defence as follows: “One of the areas of interest of electronic warfare is the jamming of GNSS and the measures taken against this jamming. In an environment where threats and countermeasures are constantly evolving, GNSS can only achieve successful results with an integrated approach. In this context, issues such as having GNSS equipped with multi-channel antennas and multi-frequency and satellite support, the ability to be tested and developed against developing threats and tailored interfaces to the user make a serious difference. As Meteksan Defence, we offer effective solutions in the field of GNSS by applying our competence and deep experience in developing similar products.”

GNSS Antennas and GNSS Receivers product family of Meteksan Defence provides its users an advantage in a number of aspects such as multiple frequency and satellite support, high position accuracy, operating at high Speed, acceleration and altitude, user-specific interface solution and easy integration, low power consumption and lightness and cost effectivity.

The performance of product family of Meteksan Defence also benefits from the advantages of the company's integrated approach. As a result of this approach, the company has developed the GNSS Simulator itself, which is used to perform functional tests in the laboratory environment. The simulators supplied from other companies have limited capabilities to simulate the jammer signals encountered in the field for anti-jamming systems. Upon this, Meteksan Defence developed its own unique GNSS simulator, which can simulate both GNSS signals of multiple satellite systems, jammer signals in the field and platform movement in real time. In this way, it has become possible to test the user scenarios of various platforms in the field in the laboratory environment.

Meteksan Defence carried out flight tests with both manned and unmanned aerial vehicles within the scope of real field tests for the product family. In addition, tests were carried out in which conditions for use in ground-based, fixed units were also established. The products successfully passed all these tests. Qualification and platform integration tests of GNSS family were also successfully concluded and products have become available for platform manufacturers.

Usage areas of GNSS

GNSS are the systems of receivers on the Earth consisting of satellites that send signals for position, speed and time calculations. There are 3 satellite systems that are widely and nationally in use: GPS (Global Positioning Systems) - USA, GLONASS (Global Navigation Satellite System) - Russia and GALILEO - European Union. At the same time, satellite systems belonging to China (BEIDOU) and India (IRNSS) are also operating in earth orbit and they can be used regionally. System solutions consisting of GNSS receivers and antennas are used to receive and process data over satellite systems and calculate location information. These solutions can be used in a wide variety of platforms, including unmanned air, land, sea vehicles, munition guidance systems, manned aircraft, land vehicles, fixed facilities, surface and underwater platforms.
