Kamaz Linza armored ambulance inducted in Russian military base in Tajikistan


According to the Russian ministry of Defense's website, a newest 4x4 armored ambulance of the Linza family has been inducted in the Russian military base in Tajikistan under the state defense order.

The vehicle is designed to search, collect and evacuate wounded personnel from the battlefield. Created on a Kamaz-53949 Typhoon-K chassis of the MRAP type, the vehicle is protected against all types of small calibers and withstands an explosion of up to 8 kg of TNT under the wheels that are of the run-flat typr : a vehicle with a damaged wheel can still travel up to 50 km on rough terrain.

The Russian defense industry is expanding the Typhoon-K family of 4x4 light armored vehicles. Typhoon is a Russian family of Mine-Resistant Ambush Protected (MRAP) armored vehicles in service since 2014. Around 120 Russian companies including KamAZ, Gaz-Group, and Bauman University, etc. are taking part in the Typhoon program. The main aim of the program is to design a fundamentally new unified platform for all Russian armored wheeled vehicles.

The 201st military base stationed in Tajikistan is Russia's largest military facility outside its borders. Actually, the unit is located in two cities : Dushanbe and Bokhtar. It includes motorized riflemen, tanks, artillery, reconnaissance units, air defense units, RCB protection and communications.

Linza armored ambulances were earlier delivered to the 58th combined arms army of the Southern Military District. IThey will be totally equipped with modern medical hardware in 2025.
