The Mack Defense Sherpa Light and the Volvo Construction Equipment (VCE) Armored Wheeled Loader L 180 will be showcased at AUSA in booth 2925.

The Sherpa Light Scout which will be showcased in Washington is available in unarmored and armored variants. It is well suited for tactical missions such as scouting, patrol, convoy escort and command liaison. It is able to transport up to 4 or 5 soldiers and a roof-mounted weapon system.

The Sherpa Light family of 4x4 tactical and light armoured vehicles has been designed to meet the needs of light forces (infantry, paratroopers, marines, internal security) in terms of all-terrain mobility, payload and protection.

The Sherpa Light Scout is especially designed to perform tactical missions such as scouting, patrol, convoy escort and command and liaison.

The vehicle can carry a total of 4/5 soldiers and comes with a roof-mounted weapon system. It also has 5.56 / 7.62 / 12.7mm weapon systems that can be manned or remotely operated. The Sherpa Light Scout can run at a maximum road speed of 110 km/h with a maximum cruising range of 1,000 km.

The Sherpa Light Scout can be armed with a Remote Controlled Weapon Station (RCWS), which increase the protection for the crew as the weapon is used from inside the vehicle through a joystick and screen. Thanks to stabilization, the machine gun can be used when the Sherpa is moving. And finally, the camera also offers good observation capabilities by day or by night. This RCWS can be equipped with 5.56 mm or 12.7 mm machine gun.

The Sherpa Light is also designed to be fitted with add-on armor (ballistic, mine and IED kits) without losing mobility and payload contrary to older vehicles.

In September 2011, Renault Trucks Defense has announced that the Egyptian Defence Ministry has ordered 18 armoured vehicles Sherpa Light Scouts.
