Russian defense Company KAMAZ unveils its new KAMAZ-63969 MRAP category 6x6 vehicle.
During Tatarstan’s President Rustam Minnikhanov’s recent visit to KAMAZ, the company for the first time demonstrated a ready-to-use version of an advanced armoured vehicle KAMAZ-63969 made under a Typhoon development project. And the head of the republic even tested the new Typhoon.

Earlier, in June, this armoured vehicle was shown to the head of the military department Sergey Shoygu. True, the vehicle was in an assembly shop without wheels then. The producers of the next-generation vehicle took account of the experience of the last decade’s actions, the manufacture and use of armoured vehicles with an enhanced mine-resistant defense system of the MRAP type.

KAMAZ-63969 is an all-wheel 6x6 armoured vehicle. The armour of the vehicle protects a crew from 14.5mm caliber bullets, B-32 armour-piercing shells and armour-piercing incendiary bullets, and also from an explosion of eight kilograms of trotyl under the vehicle. The armoured vehicle is meant for two crewmembers and ten paratroopers.
