The state-run National Chung-Shan Institute of Science & Technology (NCSIST) is developing these missiles. One is an extended-range version of the Hsiung Feng IIE. The other weapon is the Cloud Peak medium-range missile.

The Hsiung Feng IIE extended-range missile has a range of more than 1,000 kilometers. The Cloud Peak could be capable of traveling 2,000 kilometers. The latter weapon could be capable of reaching Beijing, the capital of China.
