Arctic prototype of the BAZ-69092 soon to be tested in Russia


The automobile works in Bryansk (BAZ) of Almaz-Antey Concern produced a BAZ-69092 chassis prototype for operations in eternal frost. Running tests of the vehicle will begin shortly in Yakutia, the concern said.

"It is the first vehicle produced by our enterprise for the emergencies ministry. We worked to satisfy customer requirements to the maximum and we are sure the vehicle will not fail us during trials. We hope other our designs will be also in demand in the Extreme North," BAZ CEO Dmitry Oleinik said.

The new Arctic vehicle was designed on 6x6-wheel BAZ-69092 chassis with a cargo platform for rescue, evacuation and humanitarian operations, as well as life-support to the regions. The vehicle is painted white and carries emergencies ministry symbols. The arctic option considerably differs from previous Voshchina-1 chassis. It has upgraded life-support systems, chassis and hull constructions for successful operations in the Extreme North and the Arctic.

The BAZ-6909 special wheeled chassis is developed and produced by Bryansk Motor Vehicle Plant. It is a purpose-designed heavy high mobility military vehicle. It is a baseline model of the Voschina family of military trucks. This family includes 6x6 and 8x8 heavy high mobility trucks, prime movers, artillery tractors, with a payload capacity of 13 to 21 t.
