Recent pictures released on Internet showed test-fired of a new 300 mm MLRS somewhere in North Korea. Military authorities of South Korea and the United States have monitored the development process about new North Korean MLRS from about three years ago.

North Korea has allegedly test-fired 300mm multiple rocket launchers since 2013. The latest test-firings were conducted three times in March alone.

The new launchers, which are estimated to have a maximum range of 200 km, can target the headquarters of the army, navy and air force in the country's central region and U.S. bases in South Korea's western region.

The first visual confirmation of the weapon system’s existence appeared on October 10, 2015, in footage and photographs of the parade held in Pyongyang for the 70th anniversary of the foundation for the Workers’ Party of Korea.
