Pakistan successfully conducted Training Launch of Ghauri MRBM Missile System
The launch was conducted on April 15 by a Strategic Missile Group of the Army Strategic Forces Command that was aimed at testing the operational and technical readiness of Army Strategic Forces Command. Ghauri Medium-Range Ballistic Missile (MRBM) can carry both conventional and nuclear warheads upto a distance of 1300 kms.

The launch was witnessed by senior officers from Strategic Plans Division, strategic forces, scientists and engineers of strategic organizations.

While congratulating the scientists, engineers and all ranks of Strategic Forces, Director General Strategic Plans Division, Lieutenant General Zubair Mahmood Hayat expressed his full satisfaction over the excellent standard achieved by the Strategic Forces during training which was duly reflected by the proficient handling of the weapon system in the field and fulfillment of all laid down operational and technical objectives. He emphasized that Pakistan can be justifiably proud of its defence capability and the credibility of its nuclear deterrence.

The successful Training Launch has also been warmly appreciated by the President and Prime Minister of Pakistan who congratulated the Strategic Forces, Scientists and Engineers on their outstanding achievement.

The following day, India also successfully test-fired Agni-III medium-range nuclear capable ballistic missile.
