Brunei shows interest for Russian-made air defence missile systems and upgraded tank T-90MS.

At DSA 2012 Defence Services Asia exhibition, Rosoboronexport Russia's official weapons exporter has announced that Brunei expressed interest for acquiring Russian air defence systems and naval equipment, said the Deputy Director General of "Rosoboronexport" Nicholas Dimidyuk.

"Brunei wants to increase the protection of its coasts and airspace. The country show interest for the coastal air defence system Bal-E, but also for high-speed boats" said Dimidyuk, after the end of DSA 2012, Defence Services Asia Exhibition.

Brunei would also be interested by air defense systems "Buk" and "TOR".

A the DSA 2012, the Russian delegation has presented the latest generation of main battle tank upgrade T-90MS to Brunei delegation which has show many interest for the purchase of this type of combat vehicle.

According to Rosoboronexport, the T-90MS has also interested the delegation of Malaysian armed forces that also show interest for other armoured vehicles and military equipment of Russia.

Dimidyuk stressed that the combat characteristics of the T-90MS far exceeds the capabilities of the Polish PT-91M which is in services with the Malaysian army.

Rosoboronexport offers various possibilities to upgrade main battle tanks T-90 or T-72 for several countries in the world and also the Russian armed forces.
