ST Electronics AgilFence is a new perimeter detection systems unveiled at APHS
AgilFence is at the forefront in the field of perimeter intrusion detection systems (PIDS). It is designed to overcome the perennial issues of poor pin-pointing accuracy, low detection rate & high false alarm rate in regular PIDS systems.

From award winning intrusion detection systems to security surveillance solutions and integrated alarm management systems, ST Electronics solutions serve to protect your critical sites and infrastructure.

ST Electronics PIDS system is the world’s first implementation of Fibre Bragg Grating (FBG) sensor technology in perimeter fencing. These extremely sensitive FBG sensors are used to “sense” incidents in various scenarios where very slight disturbance to the physical perimeter will trigger a response in the optical fibre sensor that translates into an intrusion alert.

Each sensor is constantly comparing inputs with neighbouring sensors before declaring an alarm. For example, during thunderstorms with heavy rain and wind, each sensor will ‘sense’ the disturbance.

As an array of sensors will experience the same disturbance that produces similar wavelength changes, the system is able to instinctively know that it is not an intrusion. However, if at the same time an isolated area senses a disturbance which is unlike the rest, an alarm will be triggered.
