"Delivering
Effects Through Influence Activity" |
| |
|
|
Over
the past few years Defence IQ’s Information Operations Europe has
developed into the best attended, most relevant and most influential meeting
of its kind, anywhere in the world.
An international forum for the PsyOps, Strategic Communications and Influence
communities, it has developed into the ‘must attend’ event,
allowing key thinkers and decision-makers to share lessons learned, new
policy and concepts and desperately needed on the ground experience for
current and future Information and Influence campaigns.
Building on a well-established tradition of excellence, IO Europe will
bring you up to date with all the latest developments in the influence
world.
From lessons learned in Afghan, counter-piracy and HOA operations to UK
MoD, French and US DoD strategic policy, IO Europe promises to deliver
broad-spectrum, strategic to tactical coverage of the influence war.

US
Army Reserves Psychological Operations
Brigadier General Ed J. Burley discusses his command of all PSYOPS
in Iraq last year, and his current work with CIMIC. From the upswing
of priority for IO in modern military engagements to the efforts
to reach out to local populations, he sums it all up: “If
we can use IO instead of bombs, how much better is that? ...It’s
a win-win for everyone.” |

 |
IO,
Radio, and Social Media
Major Kurt Soholt, the ACE chief of the US Army’s 1st IO
Command, discusses his work in the Philippines, how it compares
to other regions, and how he achieved good lines of communication
with the local population. Maj. Soholt elaborated on this excellent
case study at this year’s event. |

Just
what do we mean by ‘influence’?
Major Shawn Courty, commander of influence activities with the
Canadian Forces, summarises the need to understand the meaning
of the words that are so often thrown around in the IO domain
and what this means for meeting certain objectives, be they military,
humanitarian, or other. |
