Air Show China 2018: New Scorching Tiger UGV launched by Sany Defense


Among numerous unmanned ground platforms being proposed for the first time at Air Show China 2018, Sany Defense, a subsidiary of Sany Heavy Industry, is unveiling the Scorching Tiger tracked unmanned ground vehicle.

Sany Defense's Scorching Tiger is a multirole unmanned ground platform. Its 400 kg payload capability gives it the possibility to integrate a wide range of mission packages, such as surveillance systems, communication relay, various remote control weapon stations, or to serve as cargo or medevac platform. It is perfectly suited to follow dismounted platoon on harsh grounds.

Using rubber tracks and an electric engine make the Scorching Tiger as silent as possible during missions.

It features multiple control modes, such as intelligent following, remote control driving and autonomous patrolling to mmet the requirements of different combat missions.

The Scorching Tiger has a combat weight of 900 kg and is 2 m long, 1.5 m wide and has a height of 1.3m. The electrical powerpack allows a maximum speed on road of about 30 kph and an operational range of 40 km It can cross 400 mm deep trench and 500 mm high vertical obstacles.
