BelOMO of Belarus will showcase the prototype its new thermal weapon sight TV/S-50 at AAD 2012.
At AAD 2012 Belarus will showcase a developmental prototype of the thermal weapon sight TV/S-50. Designed by Belvneshpromservice and the R&D center LEMT of the Belarusian Optical & Mechanical Association BelOMO, the weapon sight is meant to enable precise weapon targeting at night and day in bad visibility conditions (dust, smoke, fog). The weapon sight can be mounted using Picatinny rail MIL-STD 1913 as well as a dovetail installation.

The source said that the product lineup has a wide range of uses: TV/S-50 is designed for sniper weaponry, TV/S-01 is meant for small arms, TV/S-02 can be used with portable air defense missile systems.

The Belarusian booth will also feature advertising by OAO 558 Aircraft Repair Plant. The company specializes in repairing and modernizing aircraft and helicopters, technical support for the operation and the organization of reconstructive maintenance of aircraft. Among other things the company offers a Satellit module designed to provide individual radio warfare protection of an aircraft from high-precision radio-controlled weapons with active surface-to-air and air-to-air homing heads.

Belarus will also showcase trucks and off-road-capable automobile chassis made by OAO Minsk Wheel Tractor Plant (MZKT), services for the installation of special equipment and heavy weaponry on them, trailers to transport armored vehicles.

The expo Aerospace and Defense (AAD 2012) is expected to gather over 400 companies from 25 countries and over 22,000 representatives of business circles. The State Defense Industries Committee hopes that participation in the expo will help enable favorable conditions for more vigorous promotion of manufacturing cooperation ties in addition to unique opportunities for studying the armaments market of the South Africa region, opportunities to promote modern technologies and services.
