Description
The Ground Mobility Vehicle 1.1 is a high-mobility all-terrain Special Forces Vehicle designed and manufactured by the American Company General Dynamics. The vehicle was originally manufactured by the Company Force protection under the name of Jamma (Joint All-Terrain Modular Mobility Asset). In November 2011, Force Protection was bought by General Dynamics. The Jamma was presented for the first time at the Association of the United States Army (AUSA) Institute of Land Warfare's Winter Symposium in Ft. Lauderdale in February 2010. A new version of the Jamma was unveiled by Force Protection at IDEX 2011 defense Exhibition in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. The JAMMA vehicle has been designed from the ground up to be the new standard in light tactical vehicles and its light weight, high strength structure provides a wealth of multi-role mission configurations for its end-users. The vehicle was developed to fit the unique dimensions of the and offer the Special Operations user an armor ready, four occupant, hybrid powered, high performance off road vehicle, capable of being internally transported inside that aircraft. In August 2013, General Dynamics Ordnance and Tactical Systems of St. Petersburg, Fla., is being awarded an indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract with firm-fixed-price, cost-plus-fixed-fee and cost delivery orders (or any combination of those) contract with total ceiling of $562,210,980 for the purchase of Ground Mobility Vehicles 1.1 (GMV 1.1). The GMV 1.1 is internally transportable in the CH-47 Chinook and also in V-22 Osprey aircraft. Because of its unique modularity, the GMV 1.1 can easily be expanded to maximize the cargo space of the larger CH-47.

Armament
The Ground Mobility Vehicle GMV 1.1 can be armed with 7.62 mm machine gun, mounted at the front of the roof. Another 12.7 mm machine can be mounted at the rear of the vehicle. The GMV 1.1 can be configured as a gun truck with a 360 degree field of fire from a single weapon station and for missions such as special reconnaissance, rescue/casevac and tactical resupply.
Design and protection
The Ground Mobility Vehicle 1.1 is optimized for rollover protection and features an attachment system with threat-specific armor that can be easily attached or removed in virtually any environment. The JAMMA family of vehicles include an armor attachment system that allows threat specific armor to be easily and readily attached to or removed from the vehicle in virtually any environment; stadium seating that allows the driver to be comprehensively armored while also preventing the driver from blocking the fire arcs of the other vehicle occupants; and, optimized occupant roll-over protection with full fields of fire on the move. There is two seats at the front of the vehicle, and two at the rear.
Mobility
The Ground Mobility Vehicle 1.1 is equipped with a 6 cylinder 3.2l turbo diesel engine, or, with a hybrid driveline developing a combined power of 314 hp., accelerating the fully loaded vehicle to a maximum road speed of 145 km/h. The hybrid propulsion also optimizes the vehicle's fuel consumption maintaining fuel efficiency of 33 km per gallon extending maximum road range to 725 km. The vehicle is able to negotiate slopes up to 60%, side slopes to 40%, climb a vertical step of 38 cm and fording depth of 0.75m without preparation.
Accessories
The Ground Mobility Vehicle 1.1 includes stadium seating that protects the driver while allowing 360-degree return fire and features a state-of-the-art hybrid engine that optimizes vehicle efficiency and generates 22kw continuous exportable power. An electric winch with a 4,310 kg line, built-in air compressor and central tire inflation system ensure the Ground Mobility Vehicle 1.1 can get out of just about any situation. The state of the art, open architecture, digital electronics backbone with CANBUS communication allows the integration of a wide variety of C4I solutions and the easy integration of emerging technologies as they mature.
