LAAD 2017: Grupo Inbra presents Gladiador II armored vehicle fitted with Rafael Samson Mini RWS
At this year edition of the LAAD defense and security exhibition, being held until April 7th in Rio de Janeiro, the Gladiador II light armored vehicle appeared for the first time armed with a Rafael Samson Mini Remote Weapon Station. Produced by the Brazilian company Grupo Inbra, the VBMT-LR (Multitask Armored Vehicle – Light on Wheel) Gladiador II is a 4x4 multipurpose platform.

Designed following a request expressed by the Brazilian Armed Forces, the Gladiador II, which was unveiled during the LAAD 2015 exhibition, is now expanding the range of weapon system it can accommodates, through a new partnership with the Israel-based company Rafael.

Gladiator II has a combat weight of 9200 kg and a payload capacity of 1000 kg. The project offers flexibility to reconfigure the vehicle to serve missions such as reconnaissance, advanced observation post, command post, anti-tank, mortar, radar, workshop, ambulance and electronic warfare.

Gladiator II has a ballistic level according to NATO STANAG 4569 Level 2 and floor protection according to NATO STANAG 4569 level 2A.

The vehicle has a configurable crew capacity of 5 persons. Its 4,5l Diesel engine allows a maximum speed of 100 km/h.

Designed for use with light combat vehicles and fast attack platforms, the Samson Mini RWS is the ideal choice for maneuvering forces. It can be equipped with a wide range of weapons, from 5.56 mm machine gun up to 40 mm automatic grenade launcher and ATGM launcher as an option.

The Samson Mini RWS features a dual-axis, gyro-stabilized mount and a sight pod with EO/IR visions and one laser range finder system.

The system carries up to 1,500 5.56 mm or 96 40 mm rounds, eight smoke grenades, two missiles and two rockets.
