IDEX 2017: MSPV highlights brand new T2 and J3 light armoured vehicles
The Dubai-based vehicle manufacturer Minerva Special Purpose Vehicles (MSPV) chose this 13rd edition of IDEX exhibition, held in Abu Dhabi from 19-23 Feb., to present not less than six armoured vehicles. Among them, MSPV put the spotlight on its brand new Panthera T2 and Panthera J3 armoured patrol vehicles.

A major supplier of armoured vehicles, MSPV proposes armoured vehicles from 4t to 23t, with applications such as border security, infantry transport, MEDEVAC, peacekeeping missions, and many more. Its vehicles have been sold to Egypt, Iraq, and other MENA countries. The company has production lines in Dubai, Jordan, India, Kenya and Egypt.

MSPV’s J3 and T2 vehicles have been designed to perform a wide range of missions, from patrol in urban areas to interception of potential threats.

The two vehicles feature protection level up to B7/STANAG 4569-2 for kinetic threat and STANAG 4569-1 for ballistic threat. They can accommodate a crew of five, including the 2-strong crew.

Motive power for the J3 variant is provided by a 3.6l Pentastar V6 Petrol engine of 285 hp power output, while the T2, based on a Land Cruiser V8 chassis, is powered by the 4.0l variant of the engine. Close protection of the two vehicles is provided by the front-cabin roof hatch, side and rear gun ports and an optional 360° ring-mount which can be, for the heavier T2, equipped with remote-controlled weapon station or other weapon systems.

Baseline vehicles are fitted with roof-mounted front and rear search lights, front mounted winch and rear mounted spare-wheel. Optional systems include C4ISR systems, RCWS, electronic counter-measure, STORM non-lethal, upgraded engine, tool boxes, shovels, sand ladders, etc.
