A key player in secure communications

In Malaysia, Thales has become a key player in secure communications and has numerous references, working closely with local partners. In May 2011, Thales was awarded a major contract for the integration of an advanced open vehicle electronic architecture system for the Malaysian Army’s 257 new 8X8 vehicles*. This contract is a major success for Thales in the field of communications and optronics.

Thales supplies state-of-the-art communication and command & control systems and provides the Malaysian Army with its secure digital communication as part of the Malaysian armed forces large-scale digitisation programme.

DSA is an opportunity for Thales to illustrate its know-how in communications by showcasing tactical data link, satcom, tactical network and a deployable Joint C4I offer. Some of Thales’s radio communication products such as the St@rmille radio, co-developed with Sapura within our local joint venture (STE Sdn Bhd), is exhibited on the Sapura booth.
